Monday Aug. 16 - acclimate students to class. Go over Welcome Packet.

Tues. Aug. 17 - continue course intro. Collect signed paperwork.

Wed. Aug. 18 - Welcome Flipchart. Discuss use of School Website to locate assignments. Overview of MOODLE. Learning styles inventory.

Thurs. Aug. 19 - begin study of the first 4 chapters to be taught as a unit. Students will be divided into 4 groups and assigned one of 4 chapters to summarize and teach the class via Wiki creation in MOODLE. Today, students will read their assigned chapter from the text (remains in room until extra books arrive) silently.

Fri. Aug. 20 - tentative computer lab date to enroll in MOODLE and explore features.

Mon. Aug. 23 - students will sit with group members in class and begin organizing their chapter info.

Tues. Aug. 24 - same

Wed. Aug. 25 - tentative lab date for Wiki creation.

Thurs. Aug. 26 - same

Fri. Aug. 27 - lab for wiki if necessary and begin Ch. 13 Open Book test.

Mon. Aug. 30 - group presentations of posters and wikis

Tues. Aug. 31- finish presentations

Wed. Sept. 1 - in class - ch. 16 open book test - paper test

Thurs. Sept. 2 - MOODLE lab/open book test ch. 14 and 15

Fri. Sept. 3 - MOODLE lab/open book test ch. 14 and 15

Mon. Sept. 6 - holiday

Tues. Sept. 7 - watch Thomas Edison dvd & take video quiz

Wed. Sept. 8 - begin ch. 17 - notes about imperialism and expansion of the US

Thurs. Sept. 9 - continue notes via Promethean board

Fri. Sept. 10 - lab for MOODLE -17.1/2 Quiz online

Mon. Sept. 13 - finish notes/begin discussion of 17.3/topics on board include building of Panama Canal & Dr. Gorgas' contribution to the effort
