Students will learn to lay out buildings and foundations, frame buildings, identify and install various types of exterior finishes, and apply interior finishes and trim, as well as skills needed for commercial and industrial construction. Students have the opportunity to earn a NCCER certificate.

It helps to be:

Interested in building things and working with various tools.  Students should be able to work well with a team, have strong attention to detail, and have solid math skills.

Students will learn how to layout building and foundations, as well as become familiar with the tools, materials, and basic skills used in construction.

Students will continue to learn to frame buildings and prepare them for the finishes. They will also learn how to identify and install various types of exterior finishing materials.

Students learn how to apply interior finishes and trim, as well as, form concrete and other skills needed in the commercial or industrial side of construction.

CREDENTIALING CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES

Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to build stackable credentials such as OSHA 10 hour, S/P2 Safety as they nagivate their programs of study. This will make our students more valuable to potential employers. Collision Repair offers the following certification opportunity:

  • NCCER, which includes Core Safety and Carpentry Level I

Students may receive ARTICULATED credit through Calhoun Community College after completing quality assurance criteria in this Career Technical program.

Course: Surface Preparation and Coatings

Students may receive ARTICULATED credit through the Alabama State Community College System after completing quality assurance criteria in this Career Technical program.
