In Collision Repair, students will learn all aspects of sanding, painting, and masking, as well as vinyl lettering and dent straightening. Students will also learn welding, frame straightening and alignment, and how to manage a collision repair shop, as well as having the opportunity to earn ASE certifications.

It helps to be:

good with your hands and good with your eyes; form and color count. A student should also have attention to detail and coordination.

Students will advance into shop safety, prep and masking auto for refinishing, advanced painting skills, welding safety, mig welding operations.

Paint & Refinishing III #570032

Structural Analysis Repair #570035

Topics include: managing a collision repair shop, completing live work projects, conducting advanced & custom refinishing, tinting & color matching, frame & body straightening, alignment, and measuring.

CREDENTIALING CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES

Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to build stackable credentials such as S/P2 Safety as they navigate their programs of study. This will make our students more valuable to potential employers. Collision Repair offers the following certification opportunity:

  • ASE Student Painting & Refinishing

  • ASE Student Structural Analysis and Damage Repair

  • ASE Student Non-structural Analysis and Damage Repair

  • ASE Student Mechanical and Electrical

Students may receive ARTICULATED credit through Calhoun Community College after completing quality assurance criteria in this Career Technical program.

Course: Surface Preparation and Coatings

Students may receive ARTICULATED credit through the Alabama State Community College System after completing quality assurance criteria in this Career Technical program.
