Students enrolled in the Drafting Design program will learn to use CAD software and 3D CAD software for technical drawing, industrial design, robotics, and architectural planning.

410005: Introduction to Design Drafting

First year students enrolled in the Introduction to Design Drafting class learn to use the computer and CAD software as a design tool for technical drawing, industrial designs, robot design and architecture

School of Engineering Design

Second and third year Drafting Design students enrolled in the School of Engineering Design complete in-depth studies of 3D CAD software that incudes robotics, machine parts and a variety of industrial design projects.

School of Architectural Design

Second and third year Drafting Design students enrolled in the School of Architectural Design complete in-depth studies of houses and buildings including CAD, 3D Architecture and Room Planning.

CREDENTIALING CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES

Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to build stackable credentials such as Workforce Ready-Technical Drafting and Workforce Ready-Architectural Drafting as they nagivate their programs of study. This will make our students more valuable to potential employers. Design Drafting offers the following certification opportunity:

  • AutoDesk-Revit Certified User

Students may receive ARTICULATED credit through the Alabama State Community College System after completing quality assurance criteria in this Career Technical program.

Courses:

  • Intro to Drafting Design

  • Intermediate Drafting Design

Students in this program are eligible to complete the DUAL ENROLLMENT credit through Calhoun Community College.
