RESTAURANT, FOOD & BEVERAGE PROGRAM

 

Students in the Restaurant, Food and Beverage Program will learn 

  • In a school-based laboratory for the Culinary Arts

  • The real-life simulated environment in a foodservice kitchen with a food serving and dining area

  • Formal presentations and portfolios are built throughout the pathway to showcase student work

 Limestone County Career Tech Centers Restaurant, Food and Beverage program is a  ProStart Certified Program. 

 

ProStart® is a nationwide, two-year high school program that reaches nearly 150,000 students in more than 1,900 high schools across 50 states, Guam and the Department of Defense Education Activity schools in Europe and the Pacific. 

 

From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart’s industry-driven curriculum provides real-life experience opportunities and builds practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime.

 

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) 

*Every student in the program becomes a member of FCCLA*

  • Student organization that is an integral part of the curriculum

  • Enhances leadership development skills

  • Provides community services opportunities

 

CERTIFICATION / CREDENTIAL

Students have the opportunity to gain their ServSafe Managers Certification, which is a National certification that is used in the foodservice industry.  This certification lasts five years and tells industry personnel that the student is knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation and meets industry standards.
